Many time people have commented that they loved the background in an image and wondered why I didn't just stop there. For me often times the idea is the thing and the background, however beautiful is merely the venue upon which to present something tangible and concrete. I think most of my art is abstract as I am always on looking for the intrinsic value of the thing, the way it should be, not the way it is. However I do occasionally stop to let the free flowing form be instead of having my tortured canvas lying on the ground screaming at me to stop painting. Here are a representational abstract works, sprinkled with a few of my more intangible abstracts -Jake
The Abstract Concepts thumbnail gallery of Original Art by Jake Beckman: The freeform exploration and expression of color, emotion, ideas, textures and structured formlessness.
