Cats in the Cave Framed 18 inch X 24 inch acrylic on canvas.
FAR # : 1872.
Cats in the Cave is a primitive painting with distressed blue, white and brown pumice and gesso ground; a male and female cave man playing with wild cats using a feathered fishing rod are painted over blue stencils of a leafy branch and a hand stencil to convey the passage of time, implying hands through the ages have created this work.
The idea behind came from a conversation about cats. Everyone has a vague idea of how the loyal hound got into our caves, but what about cats? Even the most affectionate of felines will never match the adoration of a dog. I figure it must have been for the entertainment value. My cats go insane over feathered cat lures at then end of a kitty fishing rod; they lose all of their dignity when confronted with such an object.-Jake
