"2^nd Story Job" is an original 24 inch x 36 inch x 0.75 inch acrylic painting on a stretched gallery wrapped canvas.  In "2^nd Story Job", by Jake Beckman, a robber crow listens to geo-tagged tweets looking for an empty home to burgle.  The wires contain triple coded binary: the color binary code reads “I’m leaving…”, the up & down binary code (b/d verses p/q) reads FourSquare.com, and the right & left binary code (b/p verses d/q) reads  RobMyHouse.com. The image overlaying the crow’s beak and eye  is a distorted version of FourSquare.com’s logo. The painting references a site called PleaseRobMe.com, which is a dressed up Twitter search, whose stated mission is to illustrate the dangers of telling people where you are and where you are not.  The background is an impression of cyberspace white noise.  The predominant colors of this larcenous crow are red, greenish black, and white, with a bit of violet and viridian. The Work is signed by the Artist, Jake, in the lower right hand corner. On the back of the work the title and date of creation are noted in pencil; the FAR Tag No. 17487 is placed in the region behind the signature on the back of the work. The work is federally copyrighted. All reproduction and publishing copyrights are retained by the artist.
