Binary Birds, by Jake Beckman - art that proudly projects you are member of the Social Media Tribe. On a cell phone, the pound key usually completes a string of numbers meaning you have finished. Three hashes signify the end of a press release. In Twitter, the hash tag allows you to categorize your tweet, as in #art, to make it easier for others to find you.  So take your pick, does is represent completion to you, or "Look at me!" or both?

Hash is an original acrylic 6 inch x 8 inch painting on archival canvas board. The painting is framed with a 11x14 inch white mat and a black corporate frame.  Hash, by Jake Beckman, is a separable piece of a large whole representative of a cell phone key pad. The number symbol is painted in interference blue paint giving it a little bling, and 2 canaries sit atop the vertical ends of the pound sign. The background is abstract airy abstract reminiscent of puffy clouds in shades of blue and white with just a touch of violet. The predominant colors are shades blue, white and yellow. In keeping with the Binary Birds social media theme the painting features ASCII Binary which represents, Hash, and #. The Work is signed by the Artist "Jake" in the lower right hand corner. On the back of the work the title and date of creation are noted in paint; the FAR Tag  No. 17515 is placed in the region behind the signature on the back of the canvas. The swap image is the entire composited series displayed next to a chair with this painting highlighted. The work is federally copyrighted. All reproduction and publishing copyrights are retained by the artist.
