Red Rocks: Some people say Sedona's red sandstone spires contain mystical vortices. I don't know about that, but I do find them beautiful. In the summertime Oak Creek Canyon is much cooler than my home in Phoenix, and much quieter. I look forward to my annual visitations to this scenic place, to spending time hanging out on Oak Creek, hiking around the canyon and painting plein air. It is so refreshing that I can understand why some might attach a mystical significance to the rejuvenating powers of this locale. In Red Rocks I hope to suggest Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon in riparian scenes, wind sculpted red rocks, river rounded stones, water, aspens, box alder, scrubs oaks and other native flora.-Jake
