Update 2011: I am changing the name from Insane Imaginings, Random Reverie & Other Creative Cogitation to just Creative Cogitation. The other name is too long. I am thnking this blog is going to become more and more art centric, with some posts about the biz of art or on creativity, but math will probably be relegated to discussions at applied to a specific work. I have begun guest blogging, which is brand new for me. Also I need to figure out how to create a landing page and start collecting contact info from you all. Yours in art-Jake
I am still working this blog out. I am not sure what I am doing here so right now it tends to be a random collection of my thoughts on a given day. Some posts are about the business of art, which is a performance work in progress for me.
Some posts are about a specific piece I am working on or have completed. These posts usually include a picture, a call to buy the work, and a link to art pages on my website where there is specific statistical information, such as the size, price, shipping costs, add-to-cart link etc. for the arwork. I paint what I call representational abstracts and magical realism with a light hearted touch. Currently I am creating Binary Birds inspired by my humorous, sometimes slightly sarcastic observations of social media and other electronic communications.
Some posts are about things I find interesting. My education is in nuclear physics; science, technology and math fascinate me.
Some posts are about my experiences — travel, art shows and other bits that comprise an artist’s life.
I am a visual artist so pictures are an important part of this blog. I am too busy to create my own WordPress Theme, but it could happen eventually, I certainly possess the skills necessary to do something like that — but I do not have the motivation right now.
I expect this blog will eventually morph into something specific, but right now it is like a painting waiting to take on a life of its own.
