April 24, 2008 -- "The unspoiled beauty of the Sonoran Desert is an artistic dreamscape with majestic saguaro cactus overlooking an amazing assortment of native plants, animals, reptiles and birds. Sonoran Safari exhibits artists who find inspiration walking under the blue skies and over the arid wilderness to create art that make use of the light, color and texture of Arizona's natural bounty. Remember: Arizona Museum for Youth at 35 N Robson St Mesa AZ, Sonoran Safari: Opening May 10, running through August 10, 2008. Museum hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10 AM-4 PM, Sunday noon-4 PM, closed Mondays. Arizona Museum for Youth will also be closed Friday July Fourth 2008 in observance of Independence Day. Admission $5-free to members and children under 1 year of age.

Parking: Free. There are two public lots located next to the facility and there are numerous street parking spaces available. Additional parking is available at the lot on the corner of Macdonald and Pepper Place, as well as the City of Mesa parking lot on the corner of Macdonald and First Street across from Queen of Peace church. This fenced lot on the corner of Macdonald and Pepper Place opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m.
